IT Support Specialist

Job Description

As the IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our company's technology infrastructure. You will be involved in various tasks related to setup, installation, maintenance, and support of laptops, PCs, printers, office networks, and user accounts. Additionally, you will handle administrative work and collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and exceptional customer service abilities.




Setup, Installation, and Maintenance:

  • Configure and deploy laptops and PCs, both Windows and Mac systems.
  • Install and update operating systems, software applications, and security patches.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.

Printer Support:

  • Install, configure, and maintain printers and other peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve printer-related problems, such as paper jams and connectivity issues.
  • Assist users with printer setup and provide instructions for usage.

Office Network and Connectivity:

  • Identify and troubleshoot network issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity and basic network devices.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to resolve complex network problems.
  • Assist users with network connectivity and ensure smooth internet access.

Vendor Management:

  • Act as a liaison between the company and external vendors for technical support.
  • Follow up with vendors to address technical issues, warranty claims, and equipment replacements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes or improvements.

User Support:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to users regarding hardware, software, and network-related queries or problems.
  • Respond promptly to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails from users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues either remotely or by visiting user workstations.

Asset Management:

  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all company IT assets, including laptops, PCs, printers, and software licenses.
  • Track hardware and software allocations, reassignments, and retirements.
  • Assist in asset procurement and disposal processes.

User Account Management:

  • Create, modify, and terminate user accounts in various systems and applications.
  • Ensure user access rights and permissions are properly granted and revoked.
  • Assist users with password resets and account-related issues.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Perform administrative duties, including invoice submission, expense tracking, and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with the reporting manager to complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to IT operations.



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in IT support roles or similar positions.

Strong technical knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Linux knowledge will be advantage.

Familiarity with printer setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Familiarity with supporting virtual PBX will be advantage

Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues.

Good work ethics, self-motivated, excited to learn.

Strong analytics, problem solver, highly motivated and able to work under pressure.

Collaborative, excellent organization skill, time management, with strong communication and negotiation skill.

Knowledge of asset management principles and user account administration.

Capacity to identify and keep up to date on relevant technology.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Flexibility to adapt to changing technology and business needs.

Have ability to communicate in English both verbal or written is a plus.
